A lot of people have asked, so here is my labor and delivery story:
Saturday I was determined to have the baby so around noon I had my membranes stripped. Afterward my contractions started to get semi-regular! In the afternoon I decided to go for a walk and try to help things along. Mom and I thought we would take about a 1 mile walk around the golf course- 4 miles later (oops, the course was longer than we expected) we got home with my contractions only 4 minutes apart. I took a shower, put the kids in bed, billy packed the bags, and then we tried to get some sleep. But after I had a few contractions that were only 2 minutes apart we decided it was time to leave for the hospital. I delivered in the back of the van when we were about half way there. Just kidding, I wanted to see if you were paying attention. Anyway, so when I got to the hospital I was only at a 3 and they were going to observe me for an hour. They would have sent me home except my water broke and I was finally admitted!
I labored for another hour and a half and as soon as I was a four, I got my epidural. YAY for modern medicine! Unfortunately Bennett wasn't doing so well and the next little while was scary as his heart rate (which is supposed to be 110-180) was falling into the 50s. The nurses were great though and kept trying to different things to get his heart rate back up. Because they were so concerned about baby the doctor told me when I was only dilated to an eight "we need to get this baby out now" so they had me start to push. Just a few minutes later, he was out; and blue. I was a little scared when everyone was saying "he's here! He's here!" and there was no crying, but the nurses took him away and worked their magic getting all of the fluid out of his lungs and then he gave a little cry!
I will post some pictures as soon as I can. Ava and Cameron both LOVE their baby and Ava does a lot to help me take care of him. I am so grateful to have my mom around taking care of me and the kids. I spent minimal amount of time in the hospital because they don't allow anyone under the age of 14 to visit and I was anxious to get home and see Ava and Cam.
Everything is going well and we appreciate all the calls and visits. Anyone who wants to come by is welcome as long as they have been healthy the last week and haven't been exposed to any serious illness (we just all want to stay healthy and there is a lot going around right now). Thanks for everything and we love you!

I was excited when I got your text and even more excited when I read how frustrated you were that you didn't have him on Saturday. We are so happy for you and can't wait to meet him.
That's so exciting! And I love the name. Good choice.
